The captain shouted, "avast! There be land at last!".
There in the city, where they looked up at the sky.
The odds were astronomical, but soon those sparks would fly.

And the sun and sea, would see a romance one could not deny.

For the captain had a shipment, cargo to deliver.
At the space engineering facility, starflow of shiver.
Light did dance upon the telescope, with alien worlds of hope.

The man of sea would see a lady, who smiled in glee.

Her hair was white, his hair was black.
She reflected might, whilst he took in her lack.
They went to dinner that night, what a strange sight.
Two captains, one of sea, of sky, one of the deep dark, one of starlight.

After a year, the two did cheer, for their daughter had been born.
Child of sun and sea, would quickly turn to mourn.
Her hair was quite peculair, some thought it was a curse.
Some speculated illness, which is arguably worse.

She grew older, looked strange, for her chin was small.
Her eyes far apart, with a range, beyond our call.

She spoke not a word for sixteen years, until she finally said.
"I am the daughter of sun & sea, now my parents are dead".

In that moment of utterance, the ship did creak and crumble.
And in the cockpit of the spacecraft, was a vacuum rumble.
Contact lost, both ships in cost.

The girl then turned to the ground.
She shed a tear, and there would appear, is now lake of sound.
Silver tears, you can hear her whisper, in the reflection you see her now.
Daughter of the sun & sea, predicts your when and how.
